  • You will receive a “Half” To Ride Program time log and more…. When you ride or drive you half quarter horse, log the time and start earning your rewards.

Requirements

  • Participant must maintain a current membership in AqHR for the entire time during which hours are recorded and submitted for prizes.
  • Ride or drive a half quarter horse. You do not have to own the horse, but both horse and rider must be registered/ member of AqHR.
  • Record the time you actually spend riding or driving the horse.
  • Maintain a separate log for each horse enrolled.
  • All time is figured on a one horse/ one rider basis and is on the honor system.
  • You are responsible for submitting “Half” To Ride Program time logs to AqHR.

  • Submit application and annual enrollment fee of $30.00 per horse. The program runs from Jan 1 through Dec 31 and must be renewed each year.
  • You will receive a “Half” to Perform Points Program card.

Requirements

  • Submit application and annual enrollment fee of $30.00 per horse. The program runs from Jan 1 through Dec 31 and must be renewed each year.
  • You will receive a “Half” to Perform Points Program card.
  • The horse must be registered with AqHR to be enrolled in the program.
  • The owner and rider (if other than owner) must maintain a current AqHR membership(s) during competition.
  • 4H shows using the Danish System are NOT eligible
  • Take along to any show/ competition: your “Half” to Perform Program card and report form, horses’ registration papers, AqHR member card. Have Fun! When you place, see the show secretary or manager.
  • Ask the official to check your “Half” to Perform Points Program card, AHQHR membership card and the horse’s registration papers to verify that you rode a registered American Half Quarter Horse. Then request the official to fill out and sign the report form.
  • Return the report, along with a show schedule or bill, to AqHR within 30 days of the event. Please use 1 form per show/ competition, but multiple forms may be returned together.
  • All reports from Dec. competitions must be received by Jan. 15 due to end of year rush.

Recognitions

  • At year end, each participant will receive a certificate showing yearly and cumulative points awarded
  • A plaque will be awarded to the top points earner in each category.
  • A Plaque plus other prizes will be awarded to your horse when it reaches:
  • 50 points in any 1 category.
  • 100 points in any 2 or more categories.
  • 100 points in any 2 or more divisions
  • Division Points Champion
  • 2-D horses earning 200 points in 2 or more divisions
  • 3-D-The top 3 horses earning the most points in at least 3 different divisions

Horses that earn plaques will be recognized on the AqHR website. If you are not sure if a class or event qualifies, have the official fill out and sign the report and send it in. We will decide if it fits into the program. You will be notified if it is NOT eligible. The “Half” to Perform Points are subject to verification. Anyone found to be submitting false reports will lose all points and be restricted from participating in the program. Prizes may be substituted at any time due to availability

How Points are Awarded

Point system for all events in Divisions 2,3,4,5,7,9,10, reining and jumper in Division 6. (Others are listed separately)

    • 1st place= 5 points
    • 2nd place= 4 points
    • 3rd place = 3 points
    • 4th place= 2 points
    • 5th place =1 point

There is a minimum of 6 entries in each event to earn points.

Point system for 4H events – Division 1

  • 1st place = 4 points
  • 2nd place= 3 points
  • 3rd place= 2 points
  • 4th place = 1 point

Point system for Endurance – Division 6

  • Under 49 miles= 2 points
  • 50-99 miles= 3 points
  • 100+ miles= 4 points
  • “best condition”=1 point

Point system for Dressage – Division 6

Training. 1st & 2nd levels & musical freestyle

  • 1st place=5 points
  • 2nd place= 4 points
  • 3rd place=3 points
  • 4th place=2 points

There is no minimum number of entries, but horse must receive a score of at least 55% to earn a point

A horse that receives 60% or more but not placing may earn 1 point for completion.

3rd and 4th level & musical freestyle

  • 1st place = 7 points
  • 2nd place= 6 points
  • 3rd place= 5 points
  • 4th place = 4 points

There is no minimum number of entries, but horse must score at least 50% to earn a point. A horse that scores a 55% earns a point for completion if they do not place.

FEI levels (includes Young Riders Tests)

    • 1st place= 12 points
    • 2nd place= 11 points
    • 3rd place= 10 points
    • 4th place = 9 points

There is no minimum number of entries, but horse must score 45% or better in EACH of the four tests to earn points. Horses scoring 50% or better but not placing receives 2 points for completion.

Point system for Eventing Horse Trials- Division 6

  • 1st place=5 points
  • 2nd place = 4 points
  • 3rd place= 3 points
  • 4th place=2 points
  • 5th place=1point

Trial must include at least 5 entries

Points for Barrel Racing- Division 8

  • 1D 1st place=15
  • 2nd place=14
  • 3rd place=13
  • 2D 1st place=12
  • 2nd place=11
